Summer Lessons
Fact: Music students that take the summer off spend 3 to 4 weeks in the fall reviewing and catching up on everything they forgot over the break!
Fact: Students that take lessons during the summer get more out of their music education than those that don’t.
The Academy of Music will be open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for private lessons from July 2, 2013 – August 14, 2013.
Why take lessons in the summer?

In September you will be able to continue where you left off without wasting time (and money) on review

Make up classes available weekly so you can still go on holidays
-
Save the $25 pre-registration and still hold your spot for September

Perform in our optional summer concert on August 15, 2013
Get even more out your summer lessons, take one hour per week

Funfest
Annual music festival through the Ontario Music Teachers Guild
Did you know that the Academy of Music is a member of the Ontario Music Teachers' Guild?
The Ontario Music Teachers Guild is a non-profit organization dedicated to continually improving and enhancing the experience of
learning music. Membership in the guild allows us the opportunity to learn about the newest
teaching techniques and methods so that we may bring them our
students.
The Funfest Competition provides an opportunity for students to perform
music and achieve an award which recognizes their hard work and efforts. All the
participants are winners. Funfest is designed to encourage students of all
ages and levels to perform in a variety of categories such as solos, duets, groups, rock bands, and choirs. The festival is run by the Ontario Music
Teachers’ Guild and each event brings students from all over Southern Ontario
together for a large scale festival which is both exciting and rewarding.
This year's festival is on July 7, 2013 in the beautiful Niagara region.
Your teacher and the office now have Funfest entry forms. Each entry allows you to perform in 3 categories.
Music is a performance art. Help your children get the full experience in music education by signing them up for Funfest this year.

Summer Camps
The Academy of Music offers summer camps for children aged 6 though to adults
All camps are from 9:00am - 4:00pm Monday through Friday.
Optional before and after care is available to all students.
