You Asked, We Listened!

Here at Oakville Academy of Music, we are constantly looking for new ways to enhance your music lessons experience. Your feedback is very important to us, and we’re excited to announce a fantastic new addition to our make-up lesson procedure!  Beginning November 1, 2024 we will begin offering rescheduled private make-up lessons along with our existing options, giving you even more flexibility in your musical journey. Here’s what we have for you:

• Rescheduled Private Make-Up Lessons: beginning November 1, 2024 you can reschedule your private music lessons with 24-hour advance notice!  These must be booked into previously canceled lesson spots and completed within 90 days of your missed lesson. Make up lessons will expire after 90 days.  You are responsible for contacting us for make up lesson availability as the openings will change from week to week.  If you cannot find a suitable time with your current teacher we recommend  signing up with another teacher.  You may reschedule your private make up lesson up to 6 times per calendar year.   If you cannot provide 24 hours notice you can still choose any of the other make up options.
• Pre-Recorded Video Lessons: If you’re unable to attend, you can choose a complete pre-recorded video lesson that you can enjoy at your convenience.  Your teacher can create a complete online video makeup just for you! This will entail a review of last weeks lesson as well as new concepts to work on for the week ahead. All this will be done via LessonMate, an app made just for makeup lessons. A link to your makeup lesson will be emailed to you as a reminder. Note: We must receive notice prior to your lesson start time to allow your teacher to prepare. Video Make Up Lesson Plans will not be done without notice. Personalized video make up lessons are unlimited and are available online as long as you are a registered student.
• Join Us on Zoom: Continue your lessons virtually at your regular time! Enjoy the same quality instruction from the comfort of your home.
• Send a Friend or Family Member: Can’t make it? Feel free to send someone else in your place! This way, you can still share the joy of learning music.  Your friend or family member may come in person on on Zoom

Due to financial obligations to our teachers we cannot refund music lessons for any reason, with no exceptions.  Our teachers are professionals and teaching at our school is a very important part of their livelihood.  Respecting their time is essential.

Note: You may choose any of the 4 options when you can’t come to your lesson. Please let us know your choice when you contact us to cancel.
