Is It Really Too Late to Learn Music?
According to 15% of our students the answer is NO, it’s not too late to learn music! FACT: 20% of children learn to play music. 70% of adults wish they had!
This means that out of the 303 children (the other 85%) that take lessons with us roughly 425 of their parents want to learn how to play as well. I have decided not to go on about the benefits of music lessons for adults, or try to shoot down the reasons you haven’t started yet. Instead, I will share a few stories from our adult students that have moved past the excuses and started learning music. Moms and dads, are you finally ready to get started? Sign up for lessons before June 30th and get a FREE $25 Registration, and we’ll pay for your fist lesson!
“I am in my late fifties and have loved the sound of violin for many years and always promised myself
that I would learn one day. I finally signed up in September 2014 at the Academy of Music and they matched me with Gail who is a wonderful teacher and great violinist. My first class was overwhelming as I couldn’t even read music. However I was so determined that the following week I self taught myself to read notes and after a few weeks I could even play a few songs. I am totally dedicated and Gail knows how to motivate me and she is great at teaching the proper technique. She will notice little things with my posture, my arm movement, and my fingers and she will make sure that I correct myself promptly to avoid bad habits. I know that I will be with the Academy for a long haul because my passion for the violin is growing day by day.” Danielle Parent
“When I decided to take up the guitar, The Academy of Music was my obvious choice. As an adult new to guitar, I was made to feel completely comfortable. The instructor is patient and willing to go at my own pace making my lessons something to look forward to.” Greg Davis
“Both my daughter and I are both taking lessons (violin and piano) and are loving it!” Rebecca Ann King
