Music Lessons Update July 2022

Hello there Academy of Music families! My name is James and I’m the director for the Oakville Academy of Music, as well as Burlington Academy of Music, the Academy of Music in Georgetown, and the Brampton School of Music. I’m here with a quick video update to share some information and to let you know what’s happening with the schools this summer.

Music Lesson Update May 2022

Hello there everyone, my name is James and I’m the Director for the Academy of Music in Oakville, Burlington, and Georgetown. I’m here with a quick video update for May 2022. A couple of things on the agenda for today, the first is the recitals. A few weeks ago, we had recitals in Oakville and in Georgetown, and of course Burlington came to Oakville for those as well at the at the Oakville Center for Performing Arts. It was a lovely show this time around. I got to emcee all the events and so I was able to watch and enjoy all of the students.

Peel Music Academy is joining our team

Beginning July 1, 2022 the Academy of Music in Oakville, Burlington, and Georgetown will welcome the Peel Music Academy in Brampton to the family! We are very excited to bring our unique music lesson programs to Brampton families and to share our love of music with the community. Programs we’re known for like the Musical Ladder System and the 150 day practice challenge.

Music Lesson Update March 2022

Hello academy of music families! My name is James, I’m the director for the Academy of music in Oakville, Georgetown and Burlington Ontario and I’m here with a quick video update. A couple of things on the agenda today. We’ll start with the Musical Ladder Festival. We just wrapped up the Musical Ladder Festival. We had music students from all over Canada send in their videos to be adjudicated by world class adjudicators and professional musicians and we have since received the feedback.

New Musical Ladder Celebration Series

Hello Academy of Music families! As you know we are constantly looking for new and fun ways to celebrate our students and their successes. This is why we have the Musical Ladder System and the 150 Day Practice Challenge. These programs are offered at no additional cost to you.

The Ontario Government has announced that they will return to a modified stage 2 of their pandemic plan. This requires that all businesses must allow employees to work from home unless the nature of the business does not allow for it. Music lessons can be taught online.

Benefits of Music Lessons for Children

As a musician and a parent I am constantly looking for opportunities for my kids to learn and grow. Not just as musicians but as people. I want my children to grow up to become kind, caring, smart, and sensitive people that make the world a better place. Music lessons are just one of the activities I use to help them grow.

Sign up is easy and parent-friendly, with helpful staff available seven days a week to serve you. Because we only offer lessons on a month-to-month basis, there are no large upfront payments, no complicated contracts, no annual material or performance fees, and no semester minimums.

$40/30 minutes

$80/60 minutes (Recommended for the serious student)

Monday – Thursday 9:00am - 9:00pm

Friday 11:00am - 7:30pm

Saturday 9:00am – 4:00pm

Sunday 9:00am - 4:00pm


A one-time registration fee of $25 (due only at time of registration)

Music lessons are HST exempt!

Fees must be paid by auto debit or pre-authorized credit card at time of registration.
