Hello everyone. My name is James and I’m the director for the Academy of Music in Oakville, Burlington, and Georgetown, as
well as the Brampton School of Music. I’m here with a quick video update. We will start with spirit week. Next week, June 18th to the 24th we’re encouraging our students to come into their lessons wearing Hawaiian shirts or hats, sunglasses, maybe bring a pool noodle, a sand bucket or anything related to the beach at all because it’s Beach week next week at the Academy of Music and the Brampton School of Music. All of the students that do participate will be entered into a draw to win a crafty prize made by our assistant manager Vanessa and a gift card to Dairy Queen. So, you can have an ice cream and
celebrate the warm weather.

Our summer recital and appreciation days for the Oakville and Burlington studios are in Oakville on August 13th and for
the Brampton and Georgetown Studios they will be on August 20th at the Georgetown location. We’re going to have a barbecue with hamburgers, hot dogs and veggie burgers for those who want them. I’m going to be there cooking myself. We hope to have a bouncy castle, face painting and games and prizes, and of course a recital. The sign up sheet is already available so go ahead and sign up and discuss with your teacher what you’re going to play at the recital on those dates. We have a tent and we’ll have all the equipment so, we’re going to listen to all of your beautiful music. This is really just one of our ways of a (A) giving students another opportunity to perform the music that they’re learning and )B) for us to thank you for being a student with us.

I’d also like to take a moment to welcome all of the new students that have registered since my last update. There are 48 new students. Welcome to all of you! We’re glad you’re here and we appreciate you! I believe the list of names is down below in the regular newsletter so, welcome to the Academy of Music and the Brampton School of Music.

January 27th of 2024 we are going to host our very first Disney recital and Gala. it’s not in Florida, it’s here. We’re going to
rent a ballroom, we’re going to have a lovely supper, and we’re going to have students perform Disney music and wear
their Disney outfits. It’s going to be super fun so keep an eye out for that.

On the same theme we are always looking for opportunities for our students to perform and/or set goals in music. This
is why we have three recitals a year. This is why we have the practice challenge and the musical ladder system. Going forward, and now that covid has finally settled down we are going to start arranging recitals at seniors homes again. We will set up half an hour to 45 minute performances. 10 to 20 students will go and perform in their local communities at
senior hone. It’s a great opportunity to share your music with your community in a positive way, and to play for an audience that’s very appreciative.

I believe that’s it for now. Don’t forget next week. Wear your spirit outfits. Beach theme, maybe a beach ball or anything like that and then just have fun with it okay?
