Here are a few answers to a few questions we have received about the Winter recital and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame show in the Spring.

WINTER RECITALS

Q:  When and where are the Winter recitals?
A:  December 3rd and 4th in the Rogers Theatre at the Mississauga Living Arts Center.  There are a few spots left and we added another show time on Sunday at 5:30pm

Q:  How much do the recitals cost?
A:  There is no cost for the recital however we do ask that you bring a cash donation for local charities.  Donations from Halton families will go to Food4Kids Halton and donations from Brampton families will go to Knights Table Food Bank.  Please be generous as there are many families in our community that are less fortunate than us.

ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME
For complete registration info visit https://academymusic.org/rockandroll2023/

Q:  Where is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?
A:  Cleveland Ohio

Q:  Who is for?
A:  All students at any level from beginner to advanced who want a really cool recital experience.  Imagine the transformation that your student will go through by preparing for and participating in this event

Q:  Am I, or is my child ready for this?
A:  The only requirement is that you play your song well (for your level).   We also highly recommend that you (and your teacher) use a back track so you can sound like a whole band.   NOTE:  There are a lot of great pop and rock sheet music arrangements available for  beginners through to advanced.

Keep in mind that you have until April 22, 2023 to learn and practice your song.  There will also be a really cool warm up concert and party in Brampton on March 25, 2023.  You may also use your sheet music at the concert if you’re nervous about memorizing your song.

Q:  Does the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame replace the Spring recital?
A:  No.  There will be a local Spring recital as well.

Q:  Can I register before December 16th the secure my spot?
A:  No.  We can only take 40 students out of 900.  To be fair to everyone we will start taking registrations at 12pm on Friday December 16th.  All the offices will be on Zoom together and will prioritize the registrations in order of arrival.

If you have any other questions feel free to call the office.

We can’t wait to see you at the Winter recitals!!!
